Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert, two of the men behind some of the best point-and-click adventure games of all time including LucasArts classics (and personal favorites) Monkey Islands , Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango, raised about $1-million in 24 hours with a Kickstarter project to produce a new game . It’s set the record for the most funding in such a short period of time as well as most backers, with current funding in excess of $1.3-million and over 36,000 contributors. Donating $15 will get you the game and access to a documentary about the game’s development. I just donated myself, and will spend every waking second until the game’s release refreshing their website until it’s available. *refresh refresh refresh refresh* Hopefully not much longer. “These things take time, dummy.” Soooooooooo — think I have time to pop a Pop Tart? Kickstarter Project Page Thanks to Matty C, Sean, bucknine, Alicia and tombey, who are almost excited as I am about this (you can tell I’m more excited because I pissed myself).

So it was just announced that LEGO will develop breasts officially licensed Minecraft products after receiving 10,000 votes on the company’s ‘ make it a LEGO reality ‘ site LEGO CUUSOO. *starts petition for prehistoric dino playsets* We’re happy to announce that the Minecraft project on LEGO CUUSOO has passed the LEGO review and we are now developing a concept that celebrates the best aspects of building with the LEGO system and in Minecraft. We can’t wait to show it to you–but it isn’t ready just yet. These things take time, so we appreciate your patience. More details are to come. I mean that’s cool and all, I was just operating under the assumption that all LEGO sets were already Minecraft ones. I mean, look at the one some fan made above. WTF do you want — squarer blocks? There Will Be Official Minecraft Lego Sets [kotaku] Thanks to Kev, whose parents only let him play with DUPLO because he’s a piece eater. Ha, SAME.

They’re not universal? Somebody sent their mom to the store for a PS3 controller and she came back with an X-Box one . So what did they do? Sent her back to exchange it without even giving her a decent lie to cover the mistake. Now it’s here on the internet for everyone to make fun of. God, she was doing you a favor, you know? You DID come out of her vagina. You could have just told her to say ‘wrong color’. You oughta be ashamed of yourself. The Infinite Agony Of Tech Retail Condensed Into One Image [nerdapproved] Thanks to Wilmersama, who doesn’t give reasons for returning things, just a stink-eye.

There’s no way you actually got those three lines. This is the world’s largest NES controller , made to celebrate the Guinness World Records 2012 Gamers Edition . It allegedly took Delft University of Technology student Ben Allen five months and $6,000 to build, although I suspect the actual cost was a fraction of that and Ben laundered the majority of contributions to buy a used Fiat. The controller is 30x the size of a regular one, weighs 252-pounds, and is nothing compared to the world’s largest video game console I just made. “That’s a shipping pallet with ‘X-BORX’ spraypainted on the side.” Ha — pretty sick, right? Hit the jump for one more shot of the you will never be able to enter the Konami code in time on that thing!

Seen here looking suspiciously like dog food nuggets held together with blood (my favorite!), several of the video game themed offerings from Cap-Bar, Capcom’s soon-to-open bar in Shinjuku, Tokyo, have been revealed. The bar will feature new game demo kiosks, merchandise for sale, and booze. Some other dishes on the menu? Hold on to your palate!: - Ace Attorney pasta and rice - Monster Hunter allaculte and meat - Devil Kings salad and soup AHAHAHHAHAHAHHA! None of those have ANYTHING to do with video games except for the title. It’s like me trying to sell Geekologie sandwiches. “What about it makes it so Geekologie?” Oh you know, just the name… “Mmmm, this actually really good!” …plus I made it after going to the bathroom and not washing my hands. Just kidding! *continue eating* I did spit in it though. Hit the jump for questionable shots of the other three (although the meat does remind me of the bait you have to give the hungry Goriya in the Legend of Zelda for him to let you pass).

Note: Larger version HERE in case you want to, I dunno, print it out and tape it inside a Playboy or something. I know what you’re into! So I was half joking in the shoutout of that Mass Effect Monopoly post when I said my re-re friend Terry was waiting for a Skyrim version. Buuuuuuuut two days later here it is, created by Geekologie Reader Alex Bennett BECAUSE I HAVE THAT POWER. Kidding, totally powerless. One time I thought I had power but NOPE, walked into the wrong apartment. Hit the jump for shot of the game cards and coins (now with 1,000 and 5,000 denominations!) and a link to the full-res 6000 x 6000 gameboard you can actually print out and glue to a real Monopoly one.

This is a video of a guy playing Battlefield 3 when he ejects out of his plane, rocket-launches an enemy jet , then gets back in his and flies off. “So just like the title said?” EXACTLY like the title said, except set to the A-Team theme song. You think anybody could actually do this in real life? “Absolutely not.” What if the pilot was wearing a jetpack? “No.” But what if it was Harry Potter? “I’m leaving.” But we haven’t even played footsie! Hit the jump for the video, plus a longer one of dude doing it over and over and over again.

This is the music video for Hey Geronimo’s ‘Why Don’t We Do Something?’ (I dunno, maybe because we’re really f***ing high and the couch is comfortable!), featuring a bunch of iPhone games recreated in real life . It’s worth checking out. The games: Flight Control, Fruit Ninja, Plants Vs. Zombies, Angry Birds and Cut the Rope. Don’t worry though, the song’s okay, but it’s not the kind that’s gonna get stuck in your head for the rest of the day like Chocolate Rain or the TROLOLOLOL song. HAHA — have fun with those two, jerks! Hit the jump for the music bideo (bideo is the new video but I don’t know why it’s not catching on).

PETA , best known for always going about things the wrong way , has now taken exception to the Mario franchise, citing Mario’s tandoori Tanooki suit sends children the message that it’s okay to wear fur. That…is a stretch. A loooooooong one. Like if I tied my penis to a lightpole then sped off in a car. When on a mission to rescue the princess, Mario has been known to use any means necessary to defeat his enemy — even wearing the skin of a raccoon dog to give him special powers. Tanooki may be just a “suit” in Mario games, but in real life, tanuki are raccoon dogs who are skinned alive for their fur. By wearing Tanooki, Mario is sending the message that it’s OK to wear fur. Listen: I’m all for the ethical treatment of animals (the actual ethical treatment of animals — not the organization), but this is ridiculous. I’m not saying PETA has run out of fights to pick, but come on. No kid plays Mario and then moves “raccoon dog suit” to the top of their Christmas list. I do know a kid that asks for Yoshi every year though. Me, I’m talking about me. Official PETA Site (with a shitty game to play and mandatory “look at these dead tanuki” video. and PETA vs. Super Mario 3D Land [nintendo3dsblog] Thanks to The Emortal, Sean and FableMomma, who’re confused why PETA doesn’t take exception to all koopa stomping as well. I know, right?! I like tuttles.

If you haven’t already seen this, watch it. It’s a video of a guy riding a mechanical Yoshi trying to collect Mario coins on the side of the street. And, from the look of dude’s coin collecting abilities, it’s fairly obvious he stole the previous 89 from somebody else. Damn, have you ever considered collecting coins with a raccoon tail instead? “I have, I fell out of a tree and broke both arms.” Rough! “You’re telling me — I had to give up coin-collecting because the Mushroom Kingdom refused to make warp pipes handicapped accessible.” Okay now you’re depressing me. Hit the jump for the laughing at other people’s misfortune.
