Pittance sez, “This is my brand new 3D printed Fisher-Price record player record (for the old clockwork music box one, not the new electronic one) playing “Still Alive” from Portal. It’s entirely made using Processing and printed at Shapeways and, now I know how to do it, I really hope I can make more with different tunes - suggestions?” 3D Printed Record - ‘Still Alive’

Sorry to burst your iBubble, but that Steve Jobs action figure is not getting made. After receiving legal threats from Apple and Jobs’ family for using the late Steve’s likeness, Tandy Cheung, the guy who sought to mass produce the figures is calling it quits.

A Geekologie Reader, who will remain anonymous but who I will now refer to as Jilted Jedi because I’ve always wanted to pretend I was Dear Abby, had his entire Star Wars toy collection haphazardly dumped in the alley behind his house by his ex-wife, who may or may yes be a evil Sith lord. Which — let me see that lightsaber . Haha, red — I KNEW IT! There were about 10 black trash bags with carded figures stuffed into them 400-500 of them! Good thing the weather was cooperative and I was quick enough on the scene to detour the smokers in the alley. Can you believe the nerve?! Those toys should’ve only been handled by a mover specializing in the relocation of collectibles . Instead they got the trashbag treatment. Ex-wives: they hated your collection long before the divorce. Hit the jump for one more shot of the carnage.

There is nothing we love better than a good electric roller skates story. For some reason inventors just keep hoping they’ll catch on. The latest entry, SpnKix dreams of a world where lithium battery powered skates will propel us all into a devil-may-care, one-step-up from-walking future.

Picture related: same color sabers. 33-year old ( young? ) David Allen Canterbury was arrested Wednesday night after somebody called 911 because he was swinging two blue lightsabers at customers in an Oregon Toys R Us. Wait…you can get arrested for that? Been there, done that, thought the worst that could happen would be getting asked to leave, amirite?! Officers tried to arrest Canterbury, but he kept swinging the lightsabers at them, Simpson said. One officer tried to use his Taser but the device didn’t work. Another officer used his Taser, but Canterbury knocked one of the wires away with a lightsaber. Whoa whoa whoa — two attempted taserings and they both failed? I never thought I’d say it, but this goofy f***er might have actually been wielding the Force! Hillsboro man held after alleged ‘Star Wars’ light saber assault at Portland Toys R Us [oregonlive] Thanks to DragonKatt and Evil Ares, who have never attacked patrons at a toy store before but have ridden bikes up and down the aisles. Ha, I still do that.

LEGO, realizing they dun goofed targeting their entire product line to boys , is releasing a line of playsets in 2012 targeted specifically to little ladies. It’s called ‘Friends’, which is a terrible name but I can look past that because I just saw a guy pushing an ice cream cart like a block further. *running out the door* Mickey face and an orange push-pop! Lego Friends features five female minifig characters who are — you guessed it — friends. Their occupations include designer, musician, veterinarian and inventor, and there are playsets for both home and work. Hey, anything’s better than playing with Barbie, amirite? WRONG. I know a lot of people want to give Barbie a bad rap for her unrealistic proportions and shit, but come on, I had some beefy looking G.I. Joe’s growing up and I’m fat as f*** right now. Never once have I starved myself or worked out in a gym. That’s all true. Besides, there are plenty of other things worse for a girl to be playing with. Namely: matches or a parent’s handgun. Food for thought. “You’re retarded.” They said only borderline! Hit the jump for a sampling of the future sets.
