Geekologie Reader Daniel Knox-Hewson, 23, and his broski Kelvin Borbidge, 22, recently changed their names . But not to Daggerteeth Dragonslayer and Gryphondick Castlecrasher like normal people, oh no, this superduo went all out. Daniel is now Emperor Spiderman Gandalf Wolverine Skywalker Optimus Prime Goku Sonic Xavier Ryu Cloud Superman HeMan Batman Thrash and Kelvin is now Baron Venom Balrog Sabretooth Vader Megatron Vegeta Robotnik Magneto Bison Sephiroth Lex Luthor Skeletor Joker Grind. Why? I have no clue. But if I had to guess I’d say because they just graduated middle school and are stoked about never having to write their names on another homework assignment. Um, guys? What about the school that comes after middle school? “What’s that?” Haha, I have no clue — is there one? Daniel Changes His Name To Emperor Spiderman Gandalf Wolverine Skywalker Optimus Prime Goku Sonic Xavier Ryu Cloud Superman HeMan Batman Thrash [anorak] Thanks Emperor Thrash, and keep up the good — er, you just keep keepin’ on.

Note: Larger version HERE in case you want to print them out and make little accessories for your action figures or whatever. Artist Fabian Gonzalez is back at it (it seems like he’s never not !), this time with a series of superhero flags. Can you name them all? I couldn’t. They’re all so colorful I just assumed I’d vomited on my monitor. *smearing with finger* OMG, I had! Fabian’s (aka Lishoff’s) Flickr via Superheroes As Flags [thehighdefinite] Thanks to Brian, who designed a flag for himself and flew it on his car’s radio antennae until somebody pointed out it kinda looked like two penises touching.

A memorial to the commie ‘liberation’ of the country in Sofia, Bulgaria was recently defaced by anti-communist graffiti artists to include the likenesses of a bunch of superheroes (plus The Joker, Santa and Ronald McDongald). So yeah — good lookin’, guys, but it’s still weird seeing Santa fighting something besides type II diabetes. Hit the jump for a bunch of closeups, as well as a picture of the statue in its regular state, except for a chick painting a pecker on the dude in the middle.

Picture moderately unrelated. The Healing Heroes Project is a nonprofit venture by do-gooder Josh Jenkins in which he gives terminally ill children in the hospital superhero “templates” to color and create the way they’d like, then Josh uses them to customize existing action figures into one-off’s of the children’s own designs. *wiping tear* Sorry — I think I got a shard of glass in my eye. Healing Heroes is a project dedicated to helping critically and terminally ill children. The aim of the project is to bring a little happiness into these childrens lives in a time when things might not be looking so bright for them. And what makes a kid happier than toys! More specifically the goal is to have the children design a superhero and within a week have an actual 1 of a kind custom action figure made for them from their design. It is my hope that this will in some small way help the kids through a really tough time in their lives and give them something positive to focus on while in the hospital. Josh is currently seeking action figure donations to help get the project underway (or start a massive action figure collection on the cheap), so if you’re interested in helping out be sure to go check out his website for details. Then, pat yourself on the back and pray Ol’ St. Nick wasn’t f***ing napping. I EXPECT BIG THINGS THIS YEAR, FAT MAN! The Healing Heroes Project Thanks to Taylor, who wishes all the sick children Wolverine-like recoveries. Couldn’t have said it better myself.

This is a fake-ass commercial for Super Harmony, an eHarmony knock-off for people who are or want to date superheroes/villains (NOT ugly people ). I tried applying, but they were all, “dammit GW, you’re more of a demigod than a superhero .” And I was all, “I LIKE DUDES IN TIGHTS!” The video isn’t particularly knee-slapping, but it did have a couple moments. What it didn’t have was Emma Frost, Rogue or Supergirl in the dating pool, making it far less a pool you’d actually want to get in, and more of a lukewarm hot-tub filled with superdudes daring each other to take their bottoms off. *dives in off patio lounger* Hit the jump for 2:30 of superdatin’.

Note: Click HERE to see the whole, 100-car graphic. This is a poster depicting the evolution of the Batmobile from its very first incarnations to the latest . It’s super-inclusive. Like, 100 different versions of Batmobile inclusive. A lot of which I never knew existed. And most of those I wish didn’t. Still, beggars can’t be choosers. Beggars can pee directly on the sidewalk though, so they don’t have it that bad. Batmobile History [carinsurance] Thanks to Igorlivzz, who’s surprised Robin never rode a scooter. Now that you mention it, he does seem like a scooter kinda superhero, doesn’t he?

This is a bunch of superheroes minimalized to their bare identification necessities . Can you name them all? I couldn’t. I’m still convinced half of them are breakfast cereal mascots. I SEE YOU, COUNT CHOCULA! You too, Quaker Oat-man. Illustrator Fabian Gonzalez strips comic book characters down to their bare essence in his clever new graphic Minimalism Heroes. The 30-year-old freelance designer, who says he grew up on Marvel and DC Comics, created the image for a T-shirt competition. In honor of his favorite superhero, Gonzalez placed an instantly identifiable icon in the upper left-hand corner. “Batman was the superhero that originally got me hooked…” There’s a key after the jump in case you want to see how well you did, as well as for those of you that didn’t even bother trying because you’re so damn lazy. And for that, I salute you. Or at least I would if it didn’t involve so much arm lifting. Hit the jump for the answer-key.

Can’t decide which superhero you want on your cake ? No problem — just slap a bunch on there! Just don’t slap Hulk’s ass, because he can and will get angry ON YOUR FACE. Robin? Not so much. “Holy tweaked nips, Batman — you could cut glass with those things!” “I know, Robin, just a little something Catwoman taught me from her jewelry-heist days.” …. “Hey Batman?” “Yes Robin?” “Wanna shower together?” “To the bat-throom!” Action Figures Cake [buzzfeed] Thanks to RaptorJesus, hands down the sexiest religious figure for 75-million years and counting.

UPDATE : Geekologie reader has a shot of his just-as-impressive back taken at Comic-Con. Picture after the jump. This is a picture of a guy with a bunch of older-school (Teen Titan) superheroes tattooed all over his chest . It’s not really the best work I’ve ever seen, but what do you expect from a hipster guy wearing suspenders but no shirt ? If you answered “nipples that look like dried vomit”, congratulations, pick a small prize. Hit the jump for the back shot.
