I don’t know about you, but I’ve been fantasizing about a Surface table ever since I got my first demo back at CES 2008. It’s only really been for sale for businesses and stuff, but Samsung is now officially selling their own version of Microsoft’s slick multi-touch interface.

Somebody want to tell me how Samsung’s new Series 5 laptop got Intel’s ” Ultrabook ” stamp of approval? The new 14-inch laptop is still thin at 20.9mm and somehow manages to cram an optical disc drive into its side, but it’s already breaking the definition of “Ultrabook.”

What a difference two months can make. After announcing it was deeply considering the idea of spinning off its PC division and getting out of the hardware game, HP’s doing another 180, insisting it’ll still make PCs and that it “needs to be in the tablet business.”

$25 computer is barely larger than the average USB stick

The Raspberry Pi is one tiny computer that’s actually functional enough for modern use. It doesn’t get any more barebones than a little circuit board with a 700MHz ARM 11 processor, a USB port, an HDMI port and an install of Ubuntu Linux.

Asus, a company that literally rose to the top on booming netbook sales knows that the mobile computing space it literally defined with the Eee PC is shrinking. A new DigiTimes report says that the Taiwanese computer company is prepping a super cheap netbook running either Android or Chrome OS to combat the rise of tablets.
