This is a custom electric guitar pieced together by Youtuber fiskybusiness89 out of a plastic Millennium Falcon toy and handmade R2-D2 head stock. I don’t know about you, but I for one would smash the shit out of that on stage after one song and then yell “SHOW’S OVER, NO REFUNDS.” Did I mention it’s hyperdrive lights up and has sound effects? Sound effects IN ADDITION to the standard guitar ones (twang twangs). Still, no word if it can make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsnips. “You mean parsecs?” I don’t know, do I? “You’ve never seen Star Wars, have you?” Ha, only The Wrath of Khan. Hit the jump for a video demo.

In this 2011 YouTube upload, violist Luk Kmi? shows what to do when your playing is interrupted by a ringing phone, as happened to him during a beautiful performance at an orthodox synagogue in Presov, Slovakia. Kmi? broke off playing for an instant, regrouped, and then improvised a lovely aria based on the Nokia ringtone. Nokia ringtone during concert of classical music ( via Making Light )

Pittance sez, “This is my brand new 3D printed Fisher-Price record player record (for the old clockwork music box one, not the new electronic one) playing “Still Alive” from Portal. It’s entirely made using Processing and printed at Shapeways and, now I know how to do it, I really hope I can make more with different tunes - suggestions?” 3D Printed Record - ‘Still Alive’

This is 8-year old Juliet’s first hardcore metal song about loving her dog and fish. Not necessarily your typical metal theme, but who cares, she killed it. Me? I just killed a little spider with the latest Game Informer , so kinda similar. Hit the jump and PREPARE TO THRASH.

This “first ever” Android speaker dock does some pretty clever mojo to get compatibility with a wide variety of Android shapes, connectors, and OSes without sacrificing useful functions. JoeBorn from Neuros sez, “The dock charges via USB and gets sound from the headphone jack. Licensing beta technology from Sonr it also uses the headphone jack for data, allowing the remote control (and dock buttons) to control all your music apps (Pandora, Google Music, Amazon Cloud, etc). No app necessary if youre content charging and controlling the device from the touch screen. Compatible with virtually all recent Android phones, the dock is shipping on Thursday the 12th. Thinkgeek is accepting pre-orders on a first-come, first-served basis until then.” This is pretty much my bedside holy grail. I’m going to try to get hold of one and review it. This is the Pyro Board, a tabletop filled with flammable gas and soundwaves being pumped through it. Depending on the frequency, the table makes different flame patterns. No word if playing death metal with produce a pentagram and burn your house to the ground, but if I hear any Katie Parry coming out of that thing I’ll send a Molotov cocktail through a window and do it my got-damn self. And — AND — show zero zero remorse afterward . “Hey GW, don’t you feel bad about that time you burnt th…” NOPE, do it again in a heartbeat. Hit the jump for the fiery performance.

Louis Armstrong: hands down one of my favorite musicians of all time. Granted he didn’t actually write ‘ What A Wonderful World ‘, but he is the best to perform it (with Israel Kamakawiwo?ole’s coming in a very close second). You ever spent a night drinking and listening to old jazz records in the dark with the windows open? It’s a spiritual experience. This is a BBC commercial featuring David Attenborough (another favorite of mine!) “singing” (read: talking) ‘What A Wonderful World’, all set to various nature clips. You know, sometimes I need a reminder that the world isn’t actually the giant shithole I’ve built it up to be in my mind. This? This is that reminder. Hit the jump for the video.

Now I know what you’re wondering, “WTF SORT OF SORCERY SHITTERY IS THIS?” And I’m right there with you. As a matter of fact, we’re holding hands . No, no we’re not. But I am trying to inconspicuously touch your butt with my leg. “You’re that guy from the bus!” FUFUFUFUUUUUUUU!! *pulling wire to get off at next stop* BEHRINGER, award-winning innovator of affordable professional audio and music equipment, is excited to announce the launch of the Eurosound consumer electronics brand — concert quality sound at an amazing value. To celebrate the launch, BEHRINGER will unveil the iNuke Boom, the loudest iPod and iPhone dock you’ve ever heard at CES 2012. The $29,999.99 monster speaker system measures a whopping 8 feet wide by 4 feet tall, weighs over 700 pounds and pumps out over 10,000 Watts of power. First of all, nobody wants or needs an 8′ x 4′, 700-lb boombox. You’ll never be able to carry that on one shoulder. Secondly, why the f*** did you name the new brand Eurosound? Is there something special about the sound in Europe? Because one time I backpacked across the entire country and it sounded pretty normal to me. “Europe isn’t a country.” And I don’t own a backpack! Press Release via Get Giant Sound With Giant iNuke Boom [incrediblethings] Thanks to Princess Yumyum, who will help me build you a custom giant iPhone dock that fits your house perfectly AND FOR THE HALF THE PRICE. Jk jk, but we will steal everything that isn’t bolted down and make out in your shower (if it’s a walk-in).

This is a series of videos from Christmas lights hanger/Youtuber lacycute20 (aka Bobby, aka nice Youtube handle brobro) of this year’s light shows choreographed to metal songs . Hit the jump for performances by Slayer, Machinehead, Kittie, as well as last year’s (including a Pantera number) in case you missed them. God, it really gets you in the holiday spirit, doesn’t it? No? Well maybe you just need a little Christmas cheer. “You mean the eggnog and brandy you’ve been drinking out of that coffee mug all morning?” I have a nog-mustache, don’t I? Hit the jump and get your holiday headbang on.

This is an impressive cover of The Animals’ version of ‘The House of the Rising Sun’ (I love you, Eric Burdon!) performed on a bunch of old computer parts (set up by the same guy who did ‘ Bohemian Rhapsody ‘). What parts? I dunno, but hopefully not the privates . I’ve actually seen a friend strum a harp with his wiener before though, so you never know. “I know you need some new damn friends!” God, I really do. Unfortunately beggars can’t be choosers. He used an Atari 800XL with an EiCO Oscilloscope as the organ, a Texas instrument Ti-99/4A with a Tektronix Oscilloscope as the guitar, a hard drive powered by a PiC16F84A microcontroller as the bass drum and cymbal, and an HP Scanjet 3P, Adaptec SCSI card, and a computer powered by Ubuntu v9.10 OS for the vocals. They actually do a really good job, which is a lot more than I can say for any job I’ve ever done. …Are you thinking what I’m thinking? “Of getting the band back together?!” HA — good one, but no. I was thinking of my friend with the harp again. That…was a f***ing awkward wedding reception. Hit the jump for the at least worth skipping around video.
