Those ankles. $30 LED slippers: so you can find that bit of midnight snack you dropped on your way back from the fridge . And don’t even act like they’re to prevent stubbing toes because nobody watches their feet while they walk unless they’re trying to avoid dog shit or breaking their mother’s back. “But do they come in camouflage ?” Ha, do they come in camouflage. Of course they come in camouflage — the deer will never see you coming! Hit the jump for a couple more shots, an unconvincing infomercial, and a link to the product site.

This is a series of (mostly) dinosaur LED drawings by artist Darren Pearson. Obviously Darren has a superhuman sense of spatial awareness because one time at a rave I tried swinging two glowsticks around on shoe strings and ended up putting some dude’s eye out and strangling myself. Then I chewed on one until it accidentally started leaking and my mouth was glowing . The girls weren’t impressed and said my breath smelled like cancer. Plus my heart felt like it was constantly going to explode and I unknowingly sat in a puddle of spilled beer (probably urine) for a half hour (and with my good pleather pants on!). Later when I was in the bathroom reminding myself just what a giant piece of shit I am in the mirror, my friend chipped a tooth and just laughed and flicked the broken piece down the drain. That — that’s when I knew it was gonna be a bad night. Tomorrow’s Labor Dabor Day but I’ll be around for at least a couple articles because idle hands are a masturbator’s playground or something. Hit the jump for nine more plus a video of Darren explaining how he makes them which, SURPRISE!, involves LED’s and a long camera exposure.

Hey — this rainbow tastes like pet fur and dust bunnies! What happens when you let seven Roombas (each with a different colored LED strapped to its head ) loose in a room for a late-night cleaning sesh ? This. THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS, LARRY. The creators, IBR Algorithm Group, explain that the Roombas were all running at the same time, hence the collision points in the painting. Personally, I don’t want to be killed in my sleep for being too lazy to run a vacuum, so I’ve never owned a Roomba. My brother has one though, and I haven’t heard from him in weeks. You do the math. “10 x 2 = 30″ Okaaaaaaaaay, maybe we’ll let a calculator do the math next time. Hit the jump for a couple more shots of the art is dead.

Seen here looking like some sort of futuristic vision, Janne Parviainen takes photographs painted with LEDs / sparklers . Impressive Janne, but try painting with darkness. Haha — can’t do it, can you?! You’ve gotta sell your soul to the devil for that shit! Straight from the camera. When you’re standing two hours in a knee deep snow in minus 20 celcius degrees taking photos, playing with fire starts to sound like a great idea, haha! I only burnt my coat just a little while doing this, oops! Oh yeah? Well I only burnt my coat a little tooting too close to a fireplace, so there! Just kidding, it actually melted the whole thing to my skin. Somebody just scored a permanent superhero bodysuit! “Who the hell are you supposed to be, Melty-Man?” Melty-man, really?! Try Members-Only Man, jackass! Hit the jump for a couple more and a link to Janne’s Flickr with a TON of different examples.

When it comes to taking down perps , you don’t always want to shoot them in the face and have their brains explode all over the wall. Wait — you don’t?! No, you don’t . Sometimes you’re gonna need to torture them first to gain vital information. Aaaaaah, right right right! Tactical Balls - Rolling Illumination and Disorientation Device. [TACTBAL] Designed for use by Law Enforcement agencies these tactical balls are switched on and rolled into an area to distract the culprit and give the police essential moments to move in and take whatever action they deem to be necessary. Supplied in sets of 3 with a belt pouch to house them, the tactical balls will each run for up to 20 hours on 2 x CR2032 batteries (supplied), delivering an output of > 13,000 MCD. I don’t know how bright 13,000 MCD is, but I guess it’s pretty bright. Still, what’s wrong with just using fireworks? That was a trick question, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with using fireworks. And that goes for replacing the candles on a birthday cake too. Now make a wish! I wish I could see again. Product Site Thanks to stubags, who distracts culprits with his actual balls. You can’t help but look!

LED eyelashes are exactly what they sound like: LEDs that attach to your eyelashes and light up to freak everybody out. I would wear them but my eyes are perfect the way they are. Read: eyepatched . YAAAAARR! Now, somebody put my cutlass in my hand and point me toward the liquor store: I’m feeling plunder-y. Hit the jump for one more shot of the ridiculousness.

In Jerusalem, an art collective called O*GE has a neat installation that consists of giant solar-powered low-wattage LED flowers. It’s a joint effort with Israel’s electric company to promote alternative energy. The flowers, which include lotuses and tulips, are made of steel wires and laser-cut glass. Pretty!
