This is a short video of a house in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood (of hey man, got any acid? fame) in San Francisco with a secret garage door that opens out of a couple seemingly boring windows, making it that much easier to accidentally park your car in a neighbor’s basement. This apartment building in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco has recently been remodeled to include four precious car parking spaces while maintaining the historical Victorian facade. Damn, that’s one hell of an improvement FOR AN APARTMENT BUILDING. I’ve been waiting seven months for the landlord to replace the exhaust fan in my bathroom. You know how embarrassing it is knowing your friends can hear you busting ass when you’re on the can? No seriously, I’m asking — I’ve never had friends over. I tried inviting a pizza delivery guy in one time but he was all “no homo” and I was all “DOUBLE SAUSAGE!” Hit the jump and be impressed. Obviously still needs a touch up though.

Clever, Veeeery Clever: Hidden Garage Door

You know that movie ‘ Up ‘ by Pixar? The one about the crotchety old man and chubby boyscout ? Yeah, I haven’t actually seen it (somebody said it’d be too sad for me AND I’M DELICATE LIKE EXPLOSIVE GEL). Well, to promote their upcoming television series ‘How Hard Can It Be?’, National Geographic built a functional replica of the ‘Up’ house to — get this — see how hard it could be. SOFT LOOKS PRETTY SOFT. …March 5 at dawn, National Geographic Channel and a team of scientists, engineers, and two world-class balloon pilots successfully launched a 16′ X 16′ house 18′ tall with 300 8′ colored weather balloons from a private airfield east of Los Angeles, and set a new world record for the largest balloon cluster flight ever attempted. The entire experimental aircraft was more than 10 stories high, reached an altitude of over 10,000 feet, and flew for approximately one hour. The filming of the event, from a private airstrip, will be part of a new National Geographic Channel series called How Hard Can it Be? , which will premiere in fall 2011. MYTHBUSTERS KNOCKOFF. And it only took eight years to come up with the idea! Smooth, National Geographic executives. And by smooth I mean rough, like wiping your ass with a handful of sand and gravel. That said, I’ll still watch it. And not just because I can only stand so much ginger facial hair and berets, but…actually that is mostly why. National Geographic Builds House From ‘Up’, Launches Into The Wild-Blue Yonder

First of all, the only Facebook group you really need to join is Geekologie’s (and NOT The Superficial’s ). But if you’re into joining every group possible you can join this guy’s , whose girlfriend has agreed to let him pirate -theme their house if he gets 1,000,000 fans. I’ve always wanted to be a pirate, and the onlyway I can truely do this is to live aboard a pirate ship, as I am tied into a house and a mortgage with this house, and I dont live anywhere near the sea, the only thing I can do is to turn my house into a massive pirate ship. I already have enough money to buy some wooden slats from B&Q, I just need to get my girlfriend to agree to remortgage the house so that I can afford decking, and masts, and eventually sails. If 1 million people joined this group it would help her understand that this isnt such a bad idea, and lots of people would do it as well, and it would help my dream come true. If you can leave a piratty message on the wall, it would also help. I was going to join but then I saw dude already has 988,756 fans, so he’s practically there. And by ‘there’ I mean on my shit-list. NOBODY OUT PIRATE-HOUSES ME!
