Fork Me, I’m Hungry: Spider Man Bust Cake

This is a cake of Spider Man’s bust made by Cake Central member Arielatl (who may or may not be a mermaid in Atlanta). As you can see, she’s pretty good at making lines with icing . Me? I’m terrible at it. One time I was supposed to spell ‘Happy Birthday Jason” on a cake and it ended up reading “Choke and die, dickhead” To my credit though, it was a cheap icing bag. For those who would like to know :) I started with a dummy head, and used fondant to build it out to look like his face, then covered it with fondant, cut the eyes out of fondant, covered it in webbing, and let it dry for a few days. Then, I filled and stacked two 10? cakes for the middle, and split an 8? cake into quarters for the shoulders. Then, I carved the sharp edges and the slope and indent for the chest. Next, I crumb-coated the whole bottom, and covered in fondant. I cut a shallow circle the size of the head base in the top of the cake, and set it in with 2 dowels. I then finished the rest of the webbing on the body, and cut the spider out of fondant. I hope this helps! :) Whoa whoa whoa — a dummy head? That’s a choking hazard! So it’s basically just a shoulder cake with an iced mannequin head on top. That’s…okay I would still eat that. BUT ONLY BECAUSE I’M FAT. Hit the jump for one more shot.

Um, Legolas…Is That Your Sister?: Quick Fire Archery

This is a video of Russian archer Iza Privezenceva blasting arrows at a rate of around one per second and, for the most part, hitting her target…which was a rug and not a poseable foam orc like I was hoping. Impressive, Iza — BUT CAN YOU DO THIS?! *firing arrow* “Shoot a man through the eyeball with an apple on his head?” Haha, is that what happened? I’m not wearing my contacts. Hit the jump for Quick Draw McGraw in action.

Disney Princes As Men’s Magazine Cover Models

This is a gallery of well-shopped men’s magazine covers featuring Disney princes from artist Petite Tiaras (previously: princesses as fashion magazine models ). Although they’re not ALL men’s magazines because there’s a TIME and National Geographic at the end. Do men even buy magazines anymore? The last time I bought one was at the airport and only because my computer’s battery was dead the cover said there were weight-loss secrets inside. SPOILER: diet and exercise. Hit the jump for a whole bunch more.

Mad Hatter Tea Party Themed Wedding Pictures

Because there’s no such thing as an un-themed wedding anymore, freshly married Erin and Matt posed for these Alice in Wonderland themed photos on the day of their nuptials. Why he opted for the Johnny Depp version of the Mad Hatter from the shitty live-action movie instead of the much better cartoon one is beyond me, but I suspect it has something to do with having really bad eyebrows. HIYO, down the rabbit hole! Aaaaaaaaaand I’m stuck. Those cookies said ‘Eat Me’, I swear! “Those were Chips-Ahoy and you know it.” YOU STAY OUT OF THIS. Hit the jump for the rest of the admittedly very well-done shoot.

Homemade: Fan-Sourced Star Wars Reboot Finished

If you didn’t already catch it this weekend, this is the 2-hour director’s cut of Star Wars: Uncut , the 15-seconds-at-a-time fan sourced (each fan was responsible for making a different 15-second scene) Star Wars: A New Hope remake . Now I didn’t have time to watch the whole thing this morning , but from what I gathered a lot more scenes were shot in people’s garages than I remember from the original. Granted I can’t say I’m surprised. Get it? I’ve never seen the original! Hit the jump for two hours of Star Wars on zero budget. Bonus points if you manage to watch the whole thing at work. Suck it, the man!

8-Year Old Juliet’s First Hardcore Metal Song

This is 8-year old Juliet’s first hardcore metal song about loving her dog and fish. Not necessarily your typical metal theme, but who cares, she killed it. Me? I just killed a little spider with the latest Game Informer , so kinda similar. Hit the jump and PREPARE TO THRASH.

Congratulations: The World’s Largest NES Controller

There’s no way you actually got those three lines. This is the world’s largest NES controller , made to celebrate the Guinness World Records 2012 Gamers Edition . It allegedly took Delft University of Technology student Ben Allen five months and $6,000 to build, although I suspect the actual cost was a fraction of that and Ben laundered the majority of contributions to buy a used Fiat. The controller is 30x the size of a regular one, weighs 252-pounds, and is nothing compared to the world’s largest video game console I just made. “That’s a shipping pallet with ‘X-BORX’ spraypainted on the side.” Ha — pretty sick, right? Hit the jump for one more shot of the you will never be able to enter the Konami code in time on that thing!

300-Pound Lifesize Standing Stormtrooper Cake

This is a 6′4″, 300-pound (just like me!) Stormtrooper cake made by Amanda Oakleaf Cakes for the Arisia Sci-Fi Convention in Boston. He provided over 600 servings, significantly more than an Ewok cake would have. Plus less hair. Nobody likes eating hair . Except my cat . God, you know you’re just gonna hock that up in the middle of the night and make me scream at you! Just kidding, I don’t actually scream at my pets. I just fake cry into a pillow and mutter things like, “God, just let me die in my sleep!” to make them feel extra bad. Hit the jump for shots from the beginning of the build to the skeletal end.

TV’s ‘Community’ Stars As X-Men Characters

While I continue to run around like a headless chicken before finally collapsing and meeting my maker (it’s probably gonna turn out to be a f***ing robot!), here are the stars of the CBS NBC show ‘Community’ reimagined as X-Men characters by artist Aviv Or. Pretty spot-on, right? I thought so. Be sure to check out the link to the artist’s website for an individual picture of each character in case you’re having trouble rubbing one out to Joel McHale as Cyclops without Professor Creepystare’s face right next to his package. Artist’s Website Thanks to Annie’s Boobs, who can apparently type now. Mine? Mine just sag and grow hair.

The Cat(woman) In The Hat: Batman In Style Of Seuss

This is a short series of cartoons of Batman characters in the style of Dr Seuss drawn by DeviantARTist DrFaustusAU. Which reminds me — my roommate and I got into a huge fight a couple weeks ago because he was trying to tell me it was the Joker who killed Batman’s parents. Can you believe that shit?! What an assclown. It was Lex Luthor, right? Hit the jump for the others.
