Jagged anti-boner ring

This little feller is a “German Spermatorrhoea Ring,” ca 1894. Spermatorrhoea (”involuntary loss of semen”) was best fought with this toothy beast, which also doubled as a cure for Onanism (”voluntary discharges from masturbation”). An extremely rare Spermatorrhoea ring fastened with a screw. With provenance from the original German catalogue dating from 1894. Spermatorrhoea means involuntary loss of semen, although the rings were also intended to prevent voluntary discharges from masturbation or Onanism (Originating from Onan who originally “spilt his seed on the ground” Genesis 38:7-9). The ring was placed at the base of the penis and fasted with a screw such that any engorgement of the organ would meet with the teeth of the ring and arrest the process. Word on the Apple blogs today: in development for iOS 6, a maps application developed entirely in-house, to replace the Google Maps program running on iOS since 2007. “The application design is said to be fairly similar to the current Google Maps program on the iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch,” reports 9to5mac.com , “But it is described as a much cleaner, faster, and more reliable experience.” Sources tell 9to5Mac the new app “will blow your head off.” MacRumors has more . WiFi Pineapple: an appliance to do WiFi snooping, password sniffing, and site-spoofing

The $90 WiFi Pineapple is now in its fourth iteration. The gadget does man-in-the-middle attacks on WiFi networks, allowing its owner to snoop on all the traffic, keylog password entries, and generally compromise the shit out of anyone using WiFi in the area. It’s a damned good reason to use a VPN, like The Pirate Bay’s IPREDator . Also: it has epic rickrolling potential. The WiFi Pineapple Mark IV improves tremendously on previous models in both hardware capabilities and ease of use. Where the Mark III brought a completely redesigned web management interface the Mark IV continues with plug & play 3G / 4G connectivity, automatic presistent reverse SSH tunnels and a simplistic status page to name a few. The new control center shows at a glance connected clients hostnames, IP addresses, Karma’d SSID as well as signal strength, idle time and network throughput. Hardware wise the Mark IV is built on a powerful Atheros AR9331 SoC at 400 MHz–over double that of the previous generation–and sports two Ethernet ports, 802.11 b/g and N connectivity, as well as most notably a USB 2.0 port, allowing for expansions like mass storage and 3G / 4G modems. *modem sold separately. Also it’s black, which adds at least 50 hacker points. WiFi Pineapple Mark IV ( via JWZ )

Make your own Star Wars droid at Disney World

The Tattoine Traders store at the Disney Hollywood Studios in Walt Disney World will soon have a build-your-own-droid option, along with a cardback box so that you can package it up to look like one of the original Star Wars figs. This is one of the rare times when the official Star Wars product is as interesting as the incredible, imaginative array of fannish creations . [T]he Droid Factory has 71 different pieces to create the 3 -inch figures! To get started, guests chose a dome, a body and legs offered in a variety of colors and styles (Cody said that availability of various parts and colors may change). There are optional third legs and novelty hats that can be added. We wanted lots of options for [the Droid Factory], continued Cody. There are literally thousands of combinations making each droid unique. Guests can also name their droids with sticker sheets provided at checkout. Three domes R6, R8 and R9 were created exclusively for this experience at Disney Parks. Cody also told me the multi-colored ear hats were inspired by Jedi Mickeys Astromech droid, R2-MK. Four additional hats arrive later this summer including a Goofy hat, a pirate hat, a fedora and a Yoda cap. Terrifying thrill-ride

This insane (Russian?) theme-park thrill ride nauseates me even at 320×240 11fps. I think if I was actually in its presence, I’d boot so hard that I’d open a wormhole to another dimension. Amusement Level: Crazy ( via Danny’s Land )

Kinetic, electrified junkbots from Nemo Gould

Kinetic junkbot sculptor Nemo Gould has completed two new, wonderful pieces. First, the Cycloptopus : Cycloptopus is a fearsome hybrid of two of my favorite monsters, one real, one mythical. This creature is particularly dangerous because of its irritability. Youd be irritable too if you were powered by an open flame and your body was made of wood. Materials: Radio cabinets, rocking chairs, fake fireplace, decorative clock elements, cabinet knobs, wall paper, chair parts, lamp parts, wheel hub, motors, LEDs And then there’s the High Voltage piece: This sculpture uses an effect known as a Jacobs Ladder. A high voltage arc is produced by way of a neon sign transformer, and then transmitted up the electrodes in the sculptures head. Im personally very pleased with the movement with this one. All the action is generated within the abdomen. The little pistons in the ankles act as shock absorbers to smooth out the motion. Materials: Industrial water valve, scaffold tubing, street light support arms, glass tube, vacuum cleaners, lamp fixtures, bicycle pedal cranks, neon sign transformer, gears from floor polisher, magnifying lens, drain cover, high voltage vacuum tubes, hydraulic dampers, plastic, phenolic, motor, LEDs He’s got a show in Oakland this weekend , too.
