Remember last year’s release of Super Mario Converse special editions ? Well they’re back with another, this time in low-tops. Me? I like my tops muffin . Dropping next month for an undisclosed amount of gold coins, the Converse Japan One Star Super Mario Bros OX are the perfect shoes for doing a little princess saving. Ooooooor walking to the liquor store. They are NOT for kicking shit though. And neither are flip-flips (that’s how I got worms). Converse One Star Super Mario Bros. OX [highsnobiety] Thanks to Jacques, who claims he used to have a pair of Altered Beast Asics back in the day. Get the f*** out!

These are the Adidas Star Wars Campus Wampa Sneakers , which, for a shoe , is a pretty impressive name. Granted not as impressive as Holey Flipflop Ow Shit I Think I Just Stepped On A Nail, but now I’m going to have to call my mom and see if my tetanus shot is up to date. $150 gets you a pair and they’re made with real wampa fur. Except wampas aren’t real so they used horse hair instead. Hey — you know what else would make pretty cool Star Wars shoes? “Jar Jar dicks?” LOLWUT? I said shoes , not a necklace. Hit the jump for a bunch of close-ups.

So Nike released their Back To The Future shoes (The 2011 Nike MAG) last night during a special event here in LA that I was rudely not invited to despite 1. being right up the street and 2. Nike knowing good and well I’m down to one shitty pair of flip-flops. The bad news: they’re not as cool as I was hoping, don’t auto-lace , and are limited to 1,500 pairs total which will only be sold on eBay (150 pairs/day through September 18th) and already passing $5,000/pair. The good news: all net proceeds will go to the Michael J. Fox Foundation to fight Parkinson’s, and all donations to the foundation through the end of the year will be matched (up to $50 million) by Sergey Brin and Anne Wojcicki. Now that — that’s cool. The Air Mag is the first rechargeable footwear from Nike were designed as an identical replica to the originals seen in the Back to the Future II movie. Some of the constant elements include the upper contours, the glowing LED panel and the electroluminescent Nike logo in the strap. The Nike Air Mag actually illuminates with the pinch of the “ear” of the high top, glowing for five hours per charge. Not gonna lie, for the amount of money these things are going for you think they could’ve included the auto-lace feature. But who knows, maybe their sweat-shop manufacturing technology wasn’t up to snuff. “Haha — maybe THAT’S why you weren’t invited to the event.” What can I say — I get bitter and burn bridges. Also: wastebaskets filled with printer paper. FIRE IN THE HOLE! Hit the jump for a ton more pictures, a teaser video released yesterday, a long-ass commercial featuring one of the unfunny jackholes from SNL, Kevin Durant and Christopher Lloyd, as well as two others including a heartfelt message from Marty McFly himself.

This is a pair of $350 “data sandals ” by Etsy seller PCB Creations, whose specialty is creating art out of printed circuitboards and other discarded computer pieces . OMG — make me a computer monitor space helmet! Its summer and time to show off a unique pair of Data Sandals, these were fashioned from PC mother boards, ribbon wire and a host of other electronic components all put together to make these highly detailed and one of a kind Sandals. You’re going to enjoy just staring at these for hours. On the scale of things I’d actually enjoy staring at for hours (with some fine ass yam-yams being an 11, crying baby a 0), computer-part sandals are actually pretty low on the list. Like a 2, tops. Still, worlds better than watching a dog drag its ass on the carpet. *ahem* I said, “still, worlds better than watching a dog drag its ass on the carpet.” DAMMIT CHLOE, PAY ATTENTION! PCB Creation’s Etsy Store (with several other art pieces and circuitboard covered journals) via Geeky ‘Sandals’ Are Made from PC Motherboards [discovery] Thanks to turtlebone, who noted, “step on a crack, break your mother(board)’s back”, effectively making my job a lot easier. Thanks for that brobro.

This is the latest Adidas x Star Wars gear to hit the street. And by street I mean sales rack, because this ain’t the kind of shit that’s gonna be sold out the back of a truck. iPhone 5 knock-offs yes, and I’ll give you a great deal on one because you seem like a good person/I like you. Anyway, Star Wars Adidas gear — it looks good and it’s expensive. Just remember: you get what you pay for . Except me. Because one time at Starbucks I paid for an iced latte but got a vanilla fappuccino . Crazy, I know. In hindsight I may have taken somebody else’s drink. Hit the jump for the rest of the collection including a pair of wampa kicks I’m actually considering.

Special EDITION. We saw the first two designs of the special edition release of Mario/Converse Chuck Taylors back in this post , and here are the other two designs (scheduled to drop in August). The first is of a Mario overworld scene , the second is of the final boss battle with Bowser. Both contain hidden images on the inside of the ankle-part. Personally, I’m not into novelty shoes, but that’s because I only wear flip-flops. And not the expensive kind either — the cheap rubber ones you can buy at the grocery store where if the little thong button pops out you can just jam it back in with a finger. You know, like the ones Jesus used to wear. “Jesus never wore those.” HA — how would you know, have you met him? “No, but I talk to him in prayer.” And you asked about his shoes?!?! Hit the jump for the other pair.

Forget my ultimate shoe, I want a pair of those! Seen here looking way too much like a shoe bomb to not be one, ForceShoes were designed to record every movement of a victim’s foot to determine the severity of impairment following a stroke. But now they want to use them to make you THE ULTIMATE PAIR OF SNEAKERS . *slam-dunks Subway napkin I’ve been using to pick boogers all morning* The sandals are not a fully commercial product yet, but researchers from the University of Twente believe there is potential for applications other than medicine. For example, SmartShoes could be used in the area of ergonomics. “You can use the shoe to form an objective impression of the physical burden placed on people in their work situation. This is something that insurance companies are very interested in”, says Prof. Peter Veltink, who leads the research group behind the device. Other possible applications include analyzing performances of top-level athletes or other sportsmen. Sure researchers could do that, or we could just all commit to only wearing sandals. You know, LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE hippies. Speaking of which — did I ever tell you I used to date a chick who never shaved her armpits? Of course not, I WAS EMBARRASSED. Hit the jump for one more shot of the shoes on in case you were wondering what kind of accessories they might go with. SPOILER: Velcro calf-bands.

Kito Keyboard flip flops are exactly what they sound like. Unless you thought they sounded like actual keyboards you wear on your feet, in which case, okay, maybe I was wrong. Just kidding, I’m never wrong. Sometimes I do moonlight as a Dr. Wong though, but that’s only to sneak into the hospital and steal meds. So yeah, keyboard flip flops . Sure the print will wear off within the first week, but at least the shape of the keys will still be there. That’s something, right? No, it’s not. Not something worth spending money on anyways. But you know what is worth spending money on? Apparently a bunch of shit on eBay when I’m wasted right before bed. Just sayin’, you know how many of those porcelain Precious Moments figurines I’ve had show up at my door? Every. Single. One. Hit the jump for a commercial not in English.

Daniel Reese paints shoes . He might paint other things (i.e. the down red) too, but that’s not what I came to talk about today. Today we’re only talking about shoes . Specifically, these Batman kicks. Speaking of which — I bet he does everyday for not banging Cat Woman when he had the chance! And I bet Robin kicks himself for never sneaking a peek at Batman’s wiener when they’re both peeing in the bat-throom. I know, I know, what I just did there was pretty amazing. Anyway, Daniel has a ton of pre-painted shoes available or will customize any pair you want with any design you want. You can check out some other examples after the jump. What you can’t check out after the jump is my ass, because it’s broken out right now and I’m really self conscious about it. Damn you, stress! Hit the jump for a bunch more examples of Daniel’s work and another link to his website.

NOTE: No matter how hard you click the picture above it’s never gonna make the video play, so hit the jump to see it. In an attempt to give the drunkest/drugged-est beer-buyer a run for his money, here comes a video from the recent Coachella music festival of some guy having so much fun (read: drugs ) he can’t get his flip-flops to cooperate. Those things can be tricky! The video’s worth a watch, but mostly I just posted this so I could link back to the naked wizard at last year’s Coachella. Remember him? Yeah, the one with the world’s smallest penis . God that video does wonders for my self-esteem. Hit it for the video.
