Seen here using a remarkably small font for a 400-year old, Ivy Bean, the world’s oldest Twitter user, has passed away . Her tweets , and old-lady aroma, will be missed. From the two-story care home where she lived in the northern English city of Bradford, 104-year-old Ivy Bean would tell her nearly 57,000 Twitter followers around the world what she did each day — from eating fish and chips to sitting in the garden. Bean’s online activity drew headlines in recent years because of her age, and she had been called the world’s oldest Twitter user, though that is difficult to verify. She became a member of Facebook at age 102, but she quickly migrated to Twitter because it was easier, she said, and because she could have more followers. She had maxed out her friend limit on Facebook. Earlier this year, Bean tweeted that she had 25,000 pending friend requests. Wait — WHAT?! This ol’ lady had 25,000 Facebook friend requests and I have to sell my ass on the street like a f***ing hotdog vendor to get you to join the Geekologie Facebook page ? WHAT DOES SHE HAVE THAT I DON’T?! Style and grace? Okay what else? Dentures? Pfft — you think I won’t knock all my teeth out?! Somebody gimme an ice-skate, I’m about to ‘Cast Away’ this shit. R.I.P. Ivy Ivy Bean, ‘world’s oldest Twitter user,’ dead at 104 [cnn] and The Geekologie Facebook Page , WHICH YOU WILL JOIN Thanks to DC_Dewd, who may or may not have cybered with her at some point (he says he did).

Okay so you remember the AT-AT costume Geekologie Reader Robert made his dog last Halloween? And you remember Patrick Boivi’s recent animated short, ‘ AT-AT Day Afternoon ‘? Well Robert recreated the film using his costumed mini-pincher (complete with ventral-mounted laser blaster) and let me tell you: it’s f***ing cute. Reminds me of the time I dressed Chloe as the Death Star until my roommate “that’s no moon”ed her so many times it gave her a complex. Hit it for the cuteness.

Note: MUST WATCH video is after the jump because your head’s gonna explode from the cuteness and I already hosed down the front page once today. This is a short video by Patrick Boivi entitled ‘AT-AT Day Afternoon’. It’s a one-minute documentary showing a typical day in the life of a pet AT-AT . Just watch it, you won’t regret it. And if you do regret it there’s obviously something wrong with you. My guess is an internal parasite. Your skin itches, doesn’t it? Sounds like a worm. Hit it. DO IT NOW (also available in HD).

Oscar the grouch kitty was sleeping in a field when his back legs got run over by a combine harvester. That story smelling fishy as shit aside, now he has bionic legs. His new kitten heels were designed with custom-made implants, which “peg” the ankle to the foot and mimic the way deer antler bone grows through skin. In a three-hour procedure, the veterinary surgical team inserted the pegs by drilling into one of Oscar’s ankle bones in each of his back legs. The implants, which are attached to the bone at the amputation site, were coated with hydroxyapatite to encourages bone cells to grow onto the metal. Oscar was trying to stand a day after the surgery and, despite some problems with infection, he was able to bear weight equally on all four limbs within four months. Fitzpatrick said the patient had made a remarkable recovery. “Oscar can now run and jump about as cats do,” he said. Heartwarming, isn’t it? Also kind of gross. But mostly heartwarming. I swear, medicine’s sure come a long way, hasn’t it? Reminds me of the time my little sister broke her arm. We had to put her down . Video report with bionic-foot footage after the jump.

From now on I’m gonna start posting videos after the jump to minimize scriptage on the front page so that those of you rocking dial up modems can still read Geekologie from your caves while you’re busy mailing homemade bombs. So, yeah, this is video of a super-surprised looking kitty. Which, HOW PRECIOUS IS HE?! I just wanna eat him up like Cruella wanted to eat all those puppies! Hit the jump for the video.

cute as a button. And, if little Link here isn’t your cup of red potion, there’s a bonus V walking around in the background. So, yeah, a little something for everyone. Provided everyone is into Zelda and/or ‘V for Vendetta’. Which, I think it’s safe to say, you all are. Aren’t you? *motioning at gun which may, in fact, be a Snickers* I said, “AREN’T YOU?” Damn yeah you are. Bitches. Turns out the ferocious T-Rex (who, I would like to mention, is a brutal lover) actually started as a tinier , much more manageable size. OMG — I’m going to grow them in my roommates closet! Also, weed. About 125 million years ago a tiny version of Tyrannosaurus rex roamed what is now northeastern China. Tiny, that is, by T. rex standards — you still wouldn’t want to meet it face to face. Described by paleontologist Paul Sereno as “punk size,” this early predator stood about nine feet tall. It just seems small compared to the giant T. rex that evolved millions of years later and was as much as 100 times more massive. “It really is the blueprint for the later (T. rex) dinosaurs,” Sereno said, “it was a blueprint that was scalable.” The Geekologie Writer is currently seeking funding for a dinosaur farm. I will pay both interest and dividends on your investment. If interested, please send non-consecutive, unmarked bills in a Christmas card to: The Geekologie Writer 541 The Anti-Robot Way Dinotopia, Never Never Land (NOT THE RANCH) 8675309 Thanks, I look forward to taking your money and having sex with dinosaurs doing business with you. Pygmy jerboas are probably the cutest things I’ve ever seen. And this is coming from a guy who raised a bunny that nursed an orphaned squirrel and three ducklings, so yeah. Youtube Thanks to taby and Andrew, who had like 1,000 pygmy jerboas and still had room for dessert.

This is a cute Yoshi nursery made by Flickr user meadblog for his first little bundle of pain joy. And, according to a recent study conducted by yours truly, raising your child in a video game -themed nursery helps the youngster develop better hand eye coordination and ability to pwn others in the future. Isn’t that right, little Geekologie Jr.? “pew pew!” Awh, that’s my boy! Hit the jump for a couple more shots and a link to his Flickr gallery, with has a ton of work-in-progress pictures.

This is Molly the cat . Molly the cat appears to be wirelessly controlled by the actions of this home printer . It’s a very special connection. Not as special as my printer and I, but that’s only because we’ve been going at it since junior-high. Isn’t that right, Inky? Now tone me. Oh yeah, baby . Darker! Youtube Thanks to the-iguana, who once shot a man for calling him an anole.
