In news that can only be described as bad, a group of autonomous quadrocopters at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology have successfully built a 20-foot tower out of foam blocks. *adding Switzerland to shit list* Neutral my ass! But seriously, I want you to think about this for a second: autonomous robots are building things on their own . Do you know how hard it is to build something? One year I tried to build a birdhouse but the roof caved in and killed a family of cardinals. Kidding, there was no roof because I accidentally glued it to my leg. My point is this: robots are building things and BUILDING things is much harder than DESTROYING things. One Minute Of Quadrocopter Crash & Burns

The University of Pennsylvania’s GRASP Lab , in an attempt to subdue me so I don’t bulldoze their building down, has posted a one minute video of their autonomous quadrocopters crashing into each other and all around failing at robotic life. I found it, dare I say, humorous? “There’s nothing funny about robots, GW — you taught me that.” I did, and that was just a test to make sure you hadn’t forgotten. You keep it up and you’re on track to become a lieutenant in my anti-robotics army. “Really?!” F*** no, you’re laser-fodder and you know it. It is your density. Autonomous Quadrocopter Can Fly Through Windows, Perch, Murder You In Your Sleep

We don’t know whether we should be terrified or overjoyed. We’ve just come across a video demo from the University of Pennsylvania’s GRASP Lab that shows an autonomous quadrotor helicopter performing “precise aggressive maneuvers.” You’ve got to watch the video to see just how amazingly this thing moves, it’s 100% terrifying. And speaking of terrifying: my face in the mirror when I woke up this morning. Joking — I’M THE FAIREST BITCH THIS SIDE OF FAIRYTALE LAND. Robotic Heli-Sniper Is Sadly No ROFLCopter

The army is testing out a new robotic-helicopter mounted sniper rifle for urban warfare because, well, CONSPIRACY! Are you ready for this? Our government is….are you sitting down? Our government is….ROBOTS! AAAAAHH! Did you hear that? I thought I heard something. It’s called the Autonomous Rotorcraft Sniper System. It mounts a powerful rifle onto highly stabilized turret, and fixes the package on board a Vigilante unmanned helicopter. The system is intended for the urban battlefield — an eye in the sky that can stare down concrete canyons, and blink out targets with extreme precision. Attempting to return fire against the ARSS is liable to be a near-suicidal act: ARSS is described as being able to fire seven to 10 aimed shots per minute, and it’s unlikely to miss. Thankfully, the system is not autonomous (yet) and relies on a ground-based pilot with AN XBOX 360-LIKE CONTROLLER to maneuver and fire. Haha, and everyone said all those hours headshotting prepubscent boys in Halo wouldn’t get you anywhere! *sniff* I’m just so proud, you little army of one, you!
